‘Should 16-year-olds get the vote? The Sunday Times debate’

Sixteen-year-olds shouldn’t have the vote because for biological reasons they are not equipped to make rational decisions. The Scottish judicial system recognizes that young people until 25, have brains that have not quite developed. This seems to be an uncontested fact, not just with reference to Scottish young people. The frontal lobe hasn’t properly formed, thus hampering the ability of this section of the population to make the right, informed decisions having weighed up the pros and cons.
