Eleven startups have been announced as finalists for Alabama Launchpad Cycle 2 2023, with $75,000 in funding available for the winners. This program is aimed at supporting ventures in the concept stage for pre-revenue startups, and for businesses that are looking to boost their growth in the early seed stage. Participants will benefit from the expert mentorship of business experts and leaders, building a sustainable innovation and job creation pipeline across the state of Alabama, which already includes 114 funded startups, producing over 1,300 jobs and $6.1m in funding.
The five companies at the concept stage will be competing for $25,000, while the six at the early seed stage are aiming to win $50,000. Participants will present their innovative solutions in a pitching process at Auburn University’s The Park on August 17. This year’s finalists include companies with a focus on early detection of skin cancer, next-generation energy solutions, financial technology, and robotics among others. Alabama Launchpad has made it their mission to foster innovation and job creation across the state by promoting and awarding funding to new startups.
