‘Lower Decks’ season 4 of the hit animated series ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ is set to premiere on September 7 on the streaming platform Paramount+. During the San Diego Comic-Con event, the release date for the upcoming season was announced alongside the debut of an exciting new trailer.

In the upcoming season 4, viewers can expect an intriguing storyline as an unknown force wreaks havoc and poses a threat to galactic peace by destroying starships. However, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, composed of Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford, and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn, finds themselves blissfully unaffected by such consequential events. Instead, they focus on fulfilling their Starfleet duties, navigating encounters with malevolent computers, exploring mysterious caves, and encountering both new and familiar alien species along the way.

Meanwhile, ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ pays tribute to the beloved film ‘Star Trek: IV: The Voyage Home’ with its captivating teaser artwork.

The ‘Lower Decks’ series centers around the Starfleet crew stationed in the lower decks of the U.S.S. Cerritos. The core characters include Ensign Beckett Mariner (voiced by Tawny Newsome), Ensign Brad Boimler (voiced by Jack Quaid), Ensign Tendi (voiced by Noël Wells), and Ensign Rutherford (voiced by Eugene Cordero). Joining them on the bridge crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos are Captain Carol Freeman (voiced by Dawnn Lewis), Commander Jack Ransom (voiced by Jerry O’Connell), Lieutenant Shaxs (voiced by Fred Tatasciore), and Doctor T’Ana (voiced by Gillian Vigman).

The popular series is a joint production between CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation branch, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Executive producers for the show include Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz of 219 Productions, and creator/showrunner Mike McMahan. Aaron Baiers from Secret Hideout, instrumental in bringing the talented McMahan onboard, also serves as an executive producer. Additionally, the Emmy Award-winning independent animation production company Titmouse (known for their work on shows like ‘Big Mouth’) serves as the animation studio for the series.

With its unique blend of humor, action, and beloved Star Trek elements, ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ has become a fan favorite since its debut. As excitement builds for season 4, fans can look forward to September 7 when the new season kicks off with a double episode premiere on Paramount+. The new trailer, released during San Diego Comic-Con, offers a thrilling glimpse into the upcoming adventures that await the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos.

The anticipation for ‘Lower Decks’ season 4 continues to grow as fans eagerly await the return of their favorite animated Star Trek series. With its intriguing premise, comedic tone, and a talented creative team behind it, the series is poised to deliver another stellar season filled with excitement, humor, and memorable Star Trek moments.
