DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin warned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not to taunt his party in light of the recent arrest of Electricity Minister V. Senthilbalaji by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. In a released video, the Chief Minister stated that the BJP was using investigating agencies like the ED instead of facing them politically and that their way of politics was to arrest opposition party leaders. Stalin also pointed out that the BJP-ruling states had not undergone such raids and questioned the ED’s inaction during the 10-year AIADMK regime from 2011 to 2021.

Moreover, Stalin alleged that due legal process was not followed in Senthilbalaji’s arrest. He further stated that the DMK would not be intimidated by the BJP’s tactics and that they had faced such harassments in the past. We (the DMK) will not bend down, but stand up and face it, he said.

Many political leaders, including AAP’s Manish Sisodia, Congress leader DK Shivakumar and P. Chidambaram, and Sanjay Raut, have faced similar treatment, he added. The Chief Minister also drew attention to the fact that opposition parties were not capable of getting justice in this atmosphere of politics. He urged the BJP to avoid harassment and deal with issues politically.
