St. Clair High School Teacher Faces Leave Over OnlyFans Controversy

A teacher at St. Clair High School in Missouri has been placed on administrative leave following a scandal involving explicit content on the online platform OnlyFans. Megan Gaither, a 31-year-old English teacher and varsity cheerleading coach, found herself in hot water after it was discovered that she had been filming explicit content alongside another recently dismissed teacher, Brianna Coppage, on OnlyFans.

Gaither is the second teacher from St. Clair High School to face disciplinary action due to their involvement with OnlyFans. Coppage, also an English teacher, resigned from her position earlier this month after her story gained national and international attention, resulting in a surge of popularity on the adult site.

In an interview with the Post-Dispatch, Gaither explained that she turned to OnlyFans to supplement her teaching income, which she found insufficient to support herself due to substantial student loan debt totaling over $125,000. Gaither holds master’s degrees from Missouri Baptist University and Arizona State University and expressed her love for teaching, stating that she hopes to return to her vocation in the future.

Gaither’s OnlyFans account, which had around 1,500 subscribers, was deactivated after the discovery of Coppage’s account by the school district. Gaither’s involvement came to light when she appeared in a video on Coppage’s account, although her face was not shown. However, individuals were able to identify her as she was wearing the same costume she had worn at a party prior to the video’s filming.

Gaither emphasized that she did not financially benefit from the explicit video and participated for enjoyment purposes. To her surprise, in just a matter of days, she earned nearly a quarter of her annual teaching salary through the video’s popularity on OnlyFans.

However, Gaither has faced severe backlash from the community since being exposed, fearing that she may lose her job. She revealed that as a woman, she has experienced slut-shaming and ostracization throughout her three years in the community. The past week has been particularly challenging for her as she received minimal support.

Superintendent Kyle Kruse of the St. Clair School District declined to issue a statement at this time regarding the controversy.

The story of Brianna Coppage, who left her teaching position earlier this month, has also gained attention. According to the New York Post, Coppage claims to have earned $1 million on OnlyFans since her departure from the school.

The situation has sparked a debate within the community, with differing opinions on the appropriateness of a teacher engaging in explicit online content. As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains uncertain what consequences Gaither will face and whether she will be able to resume her teaching career.
