Title: Spree Attacker in St. Louis Faces Charges in Random Attacks
An individual in St. Louis is now facing charges in connection with a series of random attacks that occurred recently. Anthony S. McGee, a 19-year-old suspect, has been charged with assault, kidnapping, and several other felonies for his involvement in the attacks that took place over the weekend in the Central West End area. A judge has ordered him to be held without bond.
This is not the first time that McGee has faced legal trouble. Earlier this month, he was involved in several other incidents, including assaulting a woman and spitting on a police officer. On October 12, he was caught checking cars for unlocked doors in the parking lot of the St. Louis Galleria and then spat on an off-duty officer who was working security at the mall. Three days later, he punched a woman on Big Bend Boulevard and later ran from officers before being apprehended. It is worth noting that the woman he targeted in this incident was a student at Washington University and had no prior connection to McGee. On October 25, he was accused of spitting on another police officer.
The most recent attack occurred on Sunday morning when McGee allegedly assaulted three individuals on West Pine Boulevard. Charging documents reveal that he struck a 42-year-old woman in the head with a glass liquor bottle as he passed her on the sidewalk. McGee then targeted a couple who were with their 11-month-old daughter, attempting to grab the child from the woman’s arms. However, the man and woman managed to fight him off, although the woman sustained injuries to her neck and ear in the process. After this altercation, McGee moved on to attack an 82-year-old woman by choking her on the sidewalk and breaking her arms. Witnesses provided a description of the perpetrator to the police, who subsequently apprehended McGee after a chase.
During his arrest, McGee made a disturbing statement to the police. While being taken to a squad car, he reportedly told the officers, I broke her neck. This statement was recorded on the body camera of one of the officers.
McGee resides in unincorporated north St. Louis County, specifically in the 2900 block of Heatherton Drive. As of now, he does not have an attorney listed in court files.
It is crucial to note that the information provided in this article is based on court documents and witness accounts and does not reflect a judgment on McGee’s guilt or innocence. The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
