For the third consecutive year, the S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) in Mumbai has been recognized as a pioneering institution in the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) 2023 report. The PIR evaluates business schools based on their perceived positive impact on the world, and in this edition, 69 schools from 25 countries participated. SPJIMR was one of seven pioneering schools in the highest level five category.

The PIR is a unique rating conducted by students and for students, focusing on how business schools positively impact society. The report, titled Accelerating the societal impact of business schools, was launched at the UN PRME Global Forum in New York, cementing SPJIMR’s recognition as a pioneering institution.

Commenting on the recognition, Prof. Varun Nagaraj, SPJIMR’s Dean, said, We are honored to be recognized as a pioneering school in the Positive Impact Rating 2023. More than ever, the world needs wise leaders and innovators who create positive and sustainable economic, societal, and environmental impact. We are proud to be part of a global community of business schools striving towards this common goal.

SPJIMR’s curriculum focuses on social and intellectual equipping, allowing students to become more equipped to contribute to a more equitable and just future. Prof. Chandrika Parmar, Director of Development of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC) at SPJIMR said, As educators, we will continue to collaborate with stakeholders and push the boundaries of business education to create a better world.

The PIR is formally organized as an independent, not-for-profit Association under Swiss law located in Lucerne, Switzerland. The PIR is shaped by business school experts, the UN Global Compact, global NGOs, and international student associations.

SPJIMR’s recognition as a pioneering institution in the PIR reaffirms its commitment to creating leaders dedicated to positive and sustainable change. As the world faces new challenges, business schools and the future leaders they educate must continue to promote global sustainability and positive impact.
