The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has announced its plan to cover the Hajj season in 2023 in 15 languages through a unique partnership with four global news agencies. SPA is partnering with news agencies from Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Egypt to expand its reach and provide media services to international partners through its media centers in Makkah and the Holy Sites.
The goal is to convey the Kingdom’s media messages and expand the scope of publishing by providing new languages for audiences. For this, SPA has established a joint news editing room to support the coverage efforts with full energy and technical preparations. The partnership aims to highlight the efforts made by the Kingdom to serve the Two Holy Mosques and develop services at the Holy Sites with regard to residence and transportation.
Through this initiative, the messages will be conveyed in languages including Bahasa, Urdu, Pashto, Sindhi, Baluchi, Malay, Tamil, and Spanish, in addition to Arabic, English, French, Russian, Chinese, and Persian.
SPA’s collaboration with international news agencies aims to shed light on the facilitated procedures provided by the Saudi wise leadership and the various technologies implemented for pilgrims. The Kingdom provides procedures and facilities that enable pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals with safety and dedication.
SPA has a long experience in print, visual, and audio media, and this partnership will provide new experiences to international news agencies with regards to content and messaging. By working together, SPA and its partners will highlight the true image of Islam’s greatness and tolerance.
In conclusion, SPA’s partnership with several Islamic news agencies is supported by the technical capabilities and preparations provided by the Saudi Ministry of Media. The goal is to disseminate media messages through international partners to various peoples of the world and Muslims in new languages. This step represents a qualitative stage for joint media work and enriches the services provided by SPA.
