The South United Football Club (SUFC) has made an exciting announcement regarding the expansion of their training centers in Pune. With the aim of making Pune a football hub in Western India, SUFC has opened three state-of-the-art training centers in Undri, Bavdhan, and Kharadi. These FIFA-grade facilities will not only provide top-notch training for aspiring footballers but also foster a sense of community among all age groups.

Mr. Terrence Phelan, the Sporting Director of the South United Sports Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the development, stating that SUFC has successfully developed grassroots football in Bengaluru and now wants to replicate that success in Pune. He believes that Pune and its surrounding regions have a rich football tradition, and SUFC wants to help local talent realize their potential while fostering a sense of community at their training centers.

SUFC will be offering demonstration sessions at their centers on designated dates in January, giving prospective players the opportunity to experience their training programs firsthand. This initiative also welcomes talent from other regions in Maharashtra such as Kolhapur, Mumbai, and Sangli.

To establish a solid foundation in Pune, SUFC has partnered with Ileseum Clubs for their training centers. The Bavdhan and Kharadi centers will feature 11-a-side pitches, while Undri will have a 7-a-side pitch. SUFC’s Elite Program will provide free training for talented children, with coaching available from June specifically at the Bavdhan and Kharadi centers.

Mr. Pranav Trehan, the CEO of SUFC, highlighted the strategic decision to expand to Pune, citing the city’s strong football culture. He emphasized that SUFC aims to bring together football enthusiasts and provide a platform for the youth to develop their skills. With their cutting-edge infrastructure and grassroots development programs, SUFC hopes to make Pune the footballing hub of Western India.

Apart from training programs, SUFC actively engages in community outreach and development initiatives. Their commitment to making football accessible to all, regardless of socio-economic backgrounds, remains at the forefront of their efforts. They intend to replicate this sense of community in Pune as well.

With the launch of these training centers in Pune, SUFC is taking a significant step towards creating a thriving football community in Western India. Aspiring footballers and enthusiasts can expect world-class facilities, top-notch coaching, and a supportive environment to further their passion for the sport.
