Congress party leader Sonia Gandhi expressed her grief over the tragic train accident that occurred in the Indian state of Odisha. In a statement, Gandhi conveyed her condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Balasore train accident, which claimed 261 lives and injured over 900 people. Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress party chief, has assigned Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and A. Chella Kumar to visit the crash site and assist in relief efforts. Responding to the news, Gurdeep Singh Sappal, the AICC Incharge-Admin & Coordinator, urged the involved officials to resign to ensure accountability and prevent interference in high-level inquiries.
