Singapore Doctor Testifies about Shocking State of Murdered 5-Year-Old Girl: Shocking Details Emerge

In a shocking testimony, a doctor from Singapore General Hospital revealed the horrifying state of a murdered five-year-old girl who was brought to the hospital’s emergency department. The trial of a 43-year-old father accused of murdering his own daughter is currently ongoing, with the doctor’s testimony shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding the young girl’s death.

Dr. Tess Teo Lin, who saw the girl at the emergency department on August 12, 2017, testified that the girl appeared extremely thin compared to any child she had ever seen. She expressed her shock at the girl’s severe malnourishment, stating that even until now, she had not encountered another child with such a frail physique. Dr. Teo also noted sores on the girl’s toes and red spots on her limbs, indicating possible infection.

When asked about the girl’s condition at the time she was brought in, Dr. Teo explained that she and her team initially thought the girl was unresponsive and attempted resuscitation. However, after 20 minutes, they made the difficult decision to terminate the life-saving procedures as it became apparent that the girl was already deceased.

The doctor’s report, prepared on August 30, 2017, highlighted additional injuries on the girl’s body, including bruising on her forehead and the back of her head, as well as discolouration and scabs. Dr. Teo described the girl as cachectic, a term typically used to describe cancer patients who have experienced significant muscle mass loss. This further emphasized the girl’s emaciated state.

During cross-examination, the defense counsel brought up the mention of a foul odor emanating from the girl’s body in Dr. Teo’s report. Responding to this, Dr. Teo clarified that she had observed the girl as unkempt, with dirty clothes and open sores on her toes. The overall appearance of the girl in the hospital was disheveled and neglected.

In addition to Dr. Teo’s testimony, the court also heard from an analyst at the Health Sciences Authority, Leong Hsiao Tung. Ms. Leong discussed a toxicology report she had prepared, which revealed the presence of anti-vomiting drugs and anti-histamines in the girl’s blood and urine samples at the time of her death. The defense counsel questioned the significance of these substances, to which Ms. Leong explained that the detection of drugs in urine indicated past consumption, while their presence in the blood suggested their circulation in the girl’s body before her death.

The accused, whose name is withheld to protect the identity of the surviving children, was arrested on the same day as the hospital visit in 2017 and has been in custody since then. The trial will resume on March 19 next year at the High Court, as all witnesses scheduled for this phase of the trial have been examined.

This heartbreaking case has brought attention to the alleged mistreatment and neglect suffered by the young girl and her brother, who were reportedly confined to a toilet and only allowed out when their father or stepmother needed to use it. The ongoing trial aims to uncover the truth behind this heinous crime and deliver justice for the innocent victim.
