Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has been enjoying his time in Europe following the World Test Championship (WTC) final in London. After paying a visit to Premier League club Manchester City, Gill recently visited Ligue-1 club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) too. In a video shared by PSG on Instagram, Gill was seen flaunting a personalized number 7 jersey while standing in front of the PSG stands wearing a printed shirt and sunglasses.
Gill expressed his gratitude towards the football club in a video message. He said, Hi everyone, this is Shubman Gill here. I want to thank everyone at PSG for having me, and Ici c’est Paris. Gill had earlier revealed that he is a huge fan of footballers Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr, both of whom have played for PSG.
Despite his recent visit, Gill had suffered a poor WTC final, failing to score big for Team India, who eventually lost to New Zealand. However, he has had a successful season in the IPL, where he amassed a total of 870 runs in 17 games.
Gill will soon be seen in action during India’s tour of the West Indies next month. Team India will be playing a couple of tests and three ODIs, followed by five T20Is. Gill will be looking to get back into form heading into the 2023 ODI World Cup that will be held in India later this year.
The 23-year-old batsman has been making headlines for all the right reasons recently, as he keeps up with his favourite sport even during cricket’s off-season. Gill’s love for football has not gone unnoticed and as he meets and greets his favourite football clubs, it seems he is spreading the message of unity between the two sports.
