Shoolini University, located in Solan, India, has achieved yet another impressive accolade by securing the second position among private universities in the country according to The Young University Rankings 2023. This recognition comes on the heels of Shoolini University being named the top private university in India by both the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023 and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2024.
The Young University Rankings include universities that have been established within the past 50 years. Although Shoolini University is only 13 years old, it has managed to make its mark in these rankings. The number one spot in the rankings was claimed by Mahatma Gandhi University in the public sector, followed by JSS Academy at number two, with Shoolini University taking the third position. These three universities are the only representatives from India in the Top 100 World List. Specifically, Mahatma Gandhi University secured the 77th position, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research ranked 79th, and Shoolini University came in at 91st.
Out of the 655 universities ranked globally, only 45 Indian institutions managed to secure a spot on the list. This year’s rankings witnessed an increase from last year, where only 40 Indian institutions made the cut out of 539 globally ranked universities.
Expressing his pride, the Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof. PK Khosla, stated, Debuting in the Young Universities list and being among the top three universities in the country in this category is a matter of great pride. The consistent recognition the university is receiving worldwide will drive us to perform even better in the future.
The Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof. Atul Khosla, extended congratulations to the staff and students for their impressive contributions to the university’s success story. He also expressed the hope that the string of achievements by Shoolini University would serve as an inspiration for other institutions to strive for excellence.
In last year’s ranking, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research claimed the top spot, with IIT Ropar securing the 81st position and IIT Indore securing the 86th position. However, this year, IIT Ropar slipped to the 101-150 rankings.
It is worth noting that Shoolini University has consistently outperformed in various THE Rankings, including World Universities, Subject Rankings, Asia Rankings, and now the Young Universities Rankings.
The rankings evaluate universities based on their core missions, which include teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. This comprehensive approach ensures balanced comparisons between institutions.
