Shocking Assault: Suspect in Broward County Kidnapping Case Sought
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a shocking assault and attempted kidnapping in unincorporated Broward County. Detectives have released a composite sketch of the man and are also sharing surveillance video footage of the suspect’s vehicle.
The terrifying incident took place around 3 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, in the vicinity of the 2900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard. According to the adult female victim, she was sitting on a curb when an unknown man driving a dark-colored pick-up truck approached her. The man reportedly offered her money in exchange for sexual favors, an offer which the victim promptly declined. As she began to walk away, the man forcibly grabbed her arm and forced her into his vehicle.
Despite her bravery and determination, the victim was unable to immediately escape. The suspect sexually assaulted her outside the vehicle before she managed to break free and run towards a nearby business for help. Surveillance footage captured the traumatized victim seeking assistance and the suspect’s vehicle following closely behind. As the victim entered the safety of the business, the suspect fled the scene.
