Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has credited his government’s efficient work for the survey results that place him as more popular than Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Shinde made these comments during the launch of a district-level campaign called ‘Shashan Apalya Dari’ in Kolhapur. However, Fadnavis was absent from the event due to health concerns, sparking speculation in political circles. Shiv Sena placed an advertisement featuring Shinde and PM Modi on the same day showing that 26.1% of voters in Maharashtra prefer Shinde as the Chief Minister, with Fadnavis ranking second at 23.2%.
Shinde clarified that the government did not publish the advertisement and that it didn’t include photos of late Balasaheb Thackeray or Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis. He praised all his colleagues, including Fadnavis, for their work in the government’s citizen-centric initiatives that have earned support from citizens. Shinde went further to pay tribute to Prime Minister Modi, stating that his achievements have been remarkable.
Shinde’s remarks suggest that the people’s faith in the Shiv Sena-led government is thanks to their efficient and citizen-friendly administration. The government’s policies have allowed it to deliver benefits to citizens directly to their doorstep, something that has never been done before in the history of the state, Shinde added. Shiv Sena’s advertisement has jumped into the political spotlight, with many discussing the potential implications it could have in Maharashtra’s politics.
