NCP supremo Sharad Pawar has criticized the BJP-led central government for misusing investigating agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and neglecting the drought situation in Maharashtra. Pawar accused the government of filing bogus cases against opposition leaders in an attempt to intimidate them.

During a visit to Kolhapur, Pawar stated that former ministers Anil Deshmukh and Nwab Malik, along with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, faced the government machinery without fear despite false cases being filed against them by the ED. He alleged that the government used these agencies to threaten opposition leaders with fake cases.

Pawar also took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his priorities. While Modi had time to visit Bangalore and congratulate ISRO scientists for their Chandryaan-3 mission, he neglected to visit Manipur, where communal violence had worsened the situation. Pawar criticized the Prime Minister for failing to address the issue.

Responding to a statement made by NCP MP Supriya Sule claiming that Ajit Pawar was our leader, Sharad Pawar clarified that he did not endorse his nephew as a leader, but emphasized that there was no split within the party. He expressed disappointment over Ajit Pawar joining the NDA government.

In addition to criticizing the central government, Pawar also voiced his concerns about the Maharashtra government’s handling of the drought-like situation in the state. Despite the insufficient rainfall, he accused the government of neglecting the issue and failing to initiate the necessary measures to address the drought.

Sharad Pawar’s statements highlight the ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra and the perceived misuse of investigating agencies by the BJP-led central government. With his visit to Kolhapur, Pawar aims to assert his party’s stance and draw attention to the neglect of the state’s pressing issues.
