Senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Ajit Pawar has claimed that the party’s chief Sharad Pawar has more leadership qualities than Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent politicians. He made the remarks during the 24th Foundation Day event of the NCP in Mumbai, just two days ahead of the scheduled meeting of opposition parties in Patna. Ajit Pawar also stressed the need for introspection and changes, if necessary.
Speaking at the event, Ajit Pawar said that if leaders such as Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Jagan Mohan Reddy, N Chandrababu Naidu, K Chandrasekhar Rao and Nitish Kumar could win their states, Sharad Pawar was a bigger leader than all of them. He urged the party to work towards winning Maharashtra on its own.
The NCP is a constituent of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) along with the Shiv Sena and Congress. The 17-party opposition meeting is scheduled to take place in Patna on June 23. The meeting is expected to discuss issues such as inflation, COVID-19 management, and the current political situation in the country, among others.
Ajit Pawar stressed the importance of introspection and change, if necessary, in order to stay relevant and win the elections. He encouraged the party to work towards the common goal of winning elections in the future.
