Several roads in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh have reopened after being blocked due to landslides and heavy rain. The district authorities have announced that major roads along National Highway-05, National Highway-205, and those near National Highway-907A are now accessible to traffic.

On NH-05, around 11 roads have been cleared and opened for traffic, although some of them have limited access with only one lane open for vehicles. These include the Parwanoo-Datyar road, Datyar-Chakimore road, Chakimore-Jabli road, and Jabli-Dharampur road.

Similarly, on NH-205, three roads have been reopened for traffic: Swarghat to Bhararighat, Bhararighat to Darlaghat, and Darlaghat to Karadaghat.

On NH-907A, the Kumarhatti to Nahan road is now accessible to traffic. Additionally, fifteen major district roads in Solan have also been opened for traffic.

However, it should be noted that National Highway 205 (NH 205) in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh, is currently blocked at Dakesh due to a landslide. The authorities reported that two trucks and one light motor vehicle were damaged in the incident. An alternate route through Darlamod to Beri via Kharsi is available.

The recent heavy rains and monsoon conditions in Himachal Pradesh have triggered landslides and flash floods, resulting in various road blockages and disruptions. According to the state’s Revenue Minister, Jagat Singh Negi, a total of 223 people have lost their lives, 295 have been injured, and numerous houses have been damaged. The monsoon season began on June 24.

Efforts are underway to restore the National Highway number 5, which passes through Himachal Pradesh and has been temporarily closed at Chakki Mod near Parwanoo in Solan district due to landslides. Authorities are working on the restoration process to resume normal traffic flow.

Despite the challenges posed by the weather and road conditions, the district authorities are making concerted efforts to reopen roads and ensure the safety and convenience of commuters. Residents and travelers are advised to stay updated with the latest information from official sources and exercise caution while traveling in the affected areas.
