Sergio Ramos Closer to Al Ittihad Move as Transfer Talks Intensify

Spanish footballer Sergio Ramos is edging closer to a potential move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, as transfer negotiations continue to gather pace. Despite the closure of the summer transfer window across much of Europe, Ramos could still secure a transfer to Al Ittihad, provided the deal is finalized in the coming week.

Ramos, who recently ended his 16-year tenure with Real Madrid, will now have to travel to Saudi Arabia for face-to-face negotiations that would pave the way for his medical examination and subsequent completion of the transfer.

Al Ittihad has been making waves in the transfer market this summer, securing the signings of several high-profile players from top clubs. The club has already added the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, Fabinho, and Jota to their ranks, highlighting their ambition to compete at the highest level.

Despite Al Ittihad’s interest, Turkish club Besiktas has also thrown their hat into the ring in the pursuit of Ramos. However, Besiktas has set a deadline of September 4th for Ramos to make a decision on their offer of €8 million net for a two-year contract. Galatasaray, another Turkish outfit, is also vying for the defender’s signature and has put forward an offer of approximately €6 million.

Securing Ramos’ services would be a significant coup for the Saudi Pro League, as it seeks to establish itself as a legitimate force in global football. The Spanish star boasts an impressive list of achievements, including winning the FIFA World Cup, two UEFA European Championships, four UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, five LaLiga titles, and two Ligue 1 trophies.

In a separate transfer update, Tottenham Hotspur may consider terminating goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’ contract following his failure to secure a move away from the club during the summer transfer window. Guglielmo Vicario has displaced Lloris, and the 36-year-old goalkeeper had received late offers from Newcastle United and Nice. However, due to a failure to reach agreement on terms, Lloris remains at Tottenham with one year remaining on his current contract.

AC Milan, on the other hand, is looking to reward midfielder Rade Krunic for his professionalism amidst interest from Fenerbahce. The Italian club is considering offering the 29-year-old an improved contract that would extend until 2026. Despite Fenerbahce’s tempting offer to triple his salary, Krunic demonstrated his loyalty and respect for Milan by refraining from pursuing a move.

As transfer talks continue to dominate the headlines, football fans around the world eagerly await the conclusion of these negotiations and the subsequent impact on the respective clubs involved. The fluid nature of the transfer market means surprises can still emerge, and it remains to be seen where Ramos, Lloris, and Krunic will ultimately end up.
