Thackeray-Fadnavis lash out at each other in rallies
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis engaged in a bitter war of words during rallies on Saturday. Thackeray accused Fadnavis of being shameless and worthless, while Fadnavis retaliated, suggesting that Thackeray was hallucinating. The heated exchange took place at separate rallies where both leaders took jabs at each other’s political integrity and promises made.
Thackeray, addressing a rally at Antop Hill, criticized the BJP for allegedly deceiving him regarding power-sharing agreements before the 2019 elections. On the other hand, Fadnavis, speaking in a rally in the state’s interiors, dismissed Thackeray’s claims as mere hallucinations and accused him of changing his stance. The verbal sparring escalated further when state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule referred to Thackeray as the ‘biggest nalayak’ in a potential contest.
The ongoing tussle between Thackeray and Fadnavis reflects the escalating political tension in Maharashtra. The public rift between the leaders highlights the deep-seated animosity and broken promises within the state’s political landscape. The verbal blows exchanged by both sides indicate a widening divide that could have lasting implications on Maharashtra’s political future.
