A Naxal was killed in an encounter with the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday. The officials reported that the search operation was carried out after an exchange of fire between the Naxals and security forces. Sukma SP Kiran Chauhan said, Body of a naxal was recovered in a search operation after an exchange of fire between naxals and security forces under Bhejji PS limit. This encounter comes just three weeks after security personnel arrested a Naxalite from the Sukma district. Identified as Sodi Dewa alias Sunil, the man had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head. The officials stated that he was involved in various crimes, including murder, encounter, IED blast, ambushing security personnel, and branding a sarpanch as a police informer. During his arrest, a tiffin bomb, four detonators, four gelatin rods, and other articles were recovered from him.
The security forces have been actively working towards curbing Naxalite activities in the region. The continuous efforts have resulted in multiple encounters and arrests.
