Security forces and angry mobs have destroyed militant camps in Manipur, India as violent incidents continue to occur in the region. On Sunday night, villagers set fire to an abandoned camp used by the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) in the Kakching district, while combined security forces demolished the UKLF’s base camp in Nazareth in Chandel and Kakching districts. However, militant groups managed to escape during the confrontation. The actions came after Kuki militants burned down several abandoned houses in Kakching district, including the home of former minister and Congress MLA K. Ranjit. Reports suggest that three people were killed by a mob in Imphal West District, as search operations continue to locate looted arms and the militants themselves.
