Man Charged with Murder of 16-Year-Old in London
London Metropolitan Police have announced charges against a second man in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Taye Faik in Edmonton. Josiah James Semper, 18, of Cromie Close, N13, was charged on November 17th and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on November 21st. Another suspect, Bernard Carroll, 19, of Church Street, N9, was previously charged and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on February 2nd.
Upon receiving the news, Taye’s family has been informed, and they are being supported by specially trained officers. In addition to the two individuals charged with murder, a 16-year-old girl, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail. Furthermore, three other individuals, a 20-year-old man and two 22-year-old women, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three have been released on bail as well.
The fatal incident took place on October 1st when the police were called to a stabbing in Kendal Gardens, N18, at 23:27hrs. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, Taye Faik, who resided in the area, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination revealed sharp force trauma to the chest as the cause of his death.
