SECI to Supply 600 MW Wind Power to GRIDCO Odisha

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed an agreement with transmission firm GRIDCO Odisha to supply 600 MW of wind energy, according to a recent official statement. Under the agreement, GRIDCO Odisha will purchase 600 MW of wind power from SECI, utilising the Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) Connected Wind Power Projects Scheme. The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission has already given in-principle approval for the procurement of the wind power by GRIDCO. SECI is a nodal agency in India for implementing renewable energy projects. Meanwhile, GRIDCO Ltd is currently engaged in the bulk purchase and sale of power to four distribution firms in the state and trading of surplus power.
