Seattle Seahawks Welcome Back Jordyn Brooks to Boost Linebacker Group

The Seattle Seahawks have received a significant boost as they welcome back linebacker Jordyn Brooks, who has returned to the team less than nine months after suffering a major knee injury. Brooks’ comeback adds strength and depth to Seattle’s linebacker group, which has already seen the return of star player Bobby Wagner and the addition of Devin Bush during the offseason.

Brooks sustained a torn ACL in his right knee on January 1st during a game against the New York Jets. Following surgery in January, there were doubts whether he would be ready in time for the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10th. However, throughout training camp, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll repeatedly expressed confidence that Brooks was on the brink of making a return and just needed to regain football condition before being activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Selected in the first round of the 2020 draft, Brooks, now in his fourth season with the Seahawks, has been an integral part of the team’s defense. Prior to his injury, he started 33 games over the past two seasons and ranked second in the league for tackles in 2021 with an impressive 183 tackles.

The return of Jordyn Brooks is a timely boost for the Seahawks as they aim to strengthen their defensive lineup for the upcoming season. With his talent and experience, he adds another dimension to an already formidable linebacker group. His excellent tackling ability and football IQ make him a crucial asset for the team in their pursuit of success.

Brooks’ reunion with Bobby Wagner, renowned as one of the best linebackers in the league, creates a formidable duo that opposing offenses will have to contend with. And the addition of Devin Bush further solidifies the Seahawks’ linebacker corps, making it one of the strongest units in the league.

While injuries can be devastating, the recovery and return of players like Jordyn Brooks are a testament to their determination and resilience. The Seahawks coaching staff has commendably supported and guided Brooks through his rehabilitation journey, allowing him to regain full fitness and rejoin the team earlier than expected.

With the start of the NFL season just around the corner, the Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for another exciting and competitive campaign. The return of Jordyn Brooks, along with the presence of Bobby Wagner and the addition of Devin Bush, significantly bolsters the team’s linebacker group. Seahawks fans can look forward to an intriguing season with a defense that promises to be a force to be reckoned with.
