A Scots family-run business is set to hit the shelves of Aldi stores across Scotland this month as their signature Baba’s Sauce gains popularity for its sweet and spicy flavor. Founded by mother and son duo Sunny and Suraya Mollah in 2021, Baba’s Sauce has its roots in a secret recipe dating back to the 70s from Sunny’s late father. The sauce, which boasts over 12 spices including dried and powdered chili, has become a local favorite in Dundee, prompting its expansion into larger premises to meet growing demand. Following a successful encounter at a Meet the Buyer event in 2023, Aldi decided to stock Baba’s Sauce in their 105 Scottish stores starting from 11th April 2024, showcasing their commitment to supporting Scottish suppliers. Sunny Mollah expressed his excitement about this partnership, highlighting his family’s dedication to preserving his late father’s legacy through their business. With Aldi’s backing, Baba’s Sauce is poised to introduce its unique flavor to a wider audience, promising a delicious addition to Scottish households.
