Saudi Pro League Offers Mohamed Salah £65M Per Year Contract

Saudi Arabian football is making headlines once again as Al Ittihad attempts to secure the services of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. According to goal.com, the Saudi Pro League has made an astounding offer to Salah with a three-year contract worth £65 million per year.

One of the major advantages of this deal is that income in Saudi Arabia is untaxed. Consequently, Salah stands to receive a weekly wage of £1.25 million, surpassing even Cristiano Ronaldo’s earnings at Al Nassr. This offer draws similarities to David Beckham’s move to the MLS team LA Galaxy, where he was not only presented with a lucrative contract but also had the opportunity to establish his own team, Inter Miami. Notably, Miami recently signed superstars Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.

Reports from Sun Sport suggest that Al Ittihad is extremely keen on acquiring Salah’s services, making their move during the Saudi Pro League transfer window, which runs until September 20. As part of the package, Salah will be provided with a private jet or unlimited plane tickets for his family. Additionally, he will have the chance to become an ambassador for tourism and investments in Saudi Arabia, further enhancing his profile. Moreover, there’s a possibility for him to acquire shares in a team in the future.

It’s worth noting that Salah inked a three-year contract with Liverpool last year, and the club is determined to hold onto him. He is currently the highest-paid player in the club’s history, earning approximately £400,000 per week. However, rumors have circulated regarding a strained relationship with manager Jurgen Klopp. This speculation was fueled by Salah’s visible frustration when he was substituted during Liverpool’s season opener against Chelsea, where he peeled off his wrist tape and threw it away in apparent anger. In response, Klopp stated, I didn’t have a conversation yet with him. I understand his disappointment, but I’m the manager of the whole team. In that moment we needed fresh legs, (the substitution) made sense for us. That’s all I can say about it, his reaction was absolutely okay.

As the transfer window deadline approaches in Saudi Arabia, the football world eagerly awaits Salah’s decision. Will he remain loyal to Liverpool, or will he embark on a new adventure in the promising Saudi Pro League? Only time will tell.
