The Saudi Ministry of Media has recently launched a virtual press center for the upcoming Hajj season in 2023. The goal of the center is to provide a comprehensive and high-quality coverage of the annual pilgrimage, as well as to facilitate the work of reporters. This electronic platform will offer virtual services for government agencies and news outlets covering the Hajj season.
The Virtual Press Center will enable registered reporters to access news reports, images and videos and participate in virtual press conferences available in several languages. It has also been designed to allow reporters to submit requests for interviews with officials, statistics on the Hajj season and any other kind of inquiries.
The Media Operations Room in Makkah started its operations concurrently with the launch of the VPC. This room is run by the Ministry of Media and other government agencies.
There are currently 900 registered reporters that can take advantage of the services provided in the VPC. This initiative has the potential to make reporting on the Hajj season more efficient and effective. Furthermore, the content created in the virtual environment will enable viewers across the world to stay updated with the activities associated with Hajj.
The Saudi Ministry of Media’s launch of the VPC demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that important events and activities are reported and covered in a comprehensive manner. This move highlights the importance of technology in enhancing communication and ensuring transparency in news coverage.
In conclusion, the introduction of the VPC is a step in the right direction towards facilitating accurate and timely news coverage of the Hajj season. By creating a virtual environment, reporters will be able to access a wealth of information and resources in real-time, and can swiftly produce reports that are critical in keeping audiences informed about the activities of the pilgrimage.
