Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has voiced his support for the Centre’s ordinance against the Delhi government. Speaking to ANI, Dikshit said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is aware that he could face jail time if he does not gain control of the Vigilance department. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor is seeking support from opposition parties against the ordinance and has met with leaders such as Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Nitish Kumar, and Tejashwi Yadav. The Union government brought the ordinance on May 19 to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 and bypass the Supreme Court judgement in the Centre vs Delhi case, relating to matters such as transfer posting, vigilance, and other incidental issues.
