Samsung to exhibit more C-Lab startups than ever before at CES 2024

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is set to showcase a record-breaking number of innovative projects from its C-Lab program at CES 2024. The tech giant will feature 15 startups and projects at the Eureka Park exhibition space in Las Vegas, making it the highest number of startups ever exhibited by the company at the world’s largest tech show.

Since its inception in 2012, Samsung’s C-Lab program has incubated a total of 870 startups and projects. This includes 475 through C-Lab Outside and 397 through C-Lab Inside. Notably, the 537 C-Lab startups have collectively raised a staggering $1 billion in investment.

At CES 2024, Samsung will provide an opportunity for startups from the C-Lab program to gauge global market responses, enhance their business feasibility, and connect with potential investors. With over 1,000 startups and an expected attendance of more than 130,000 visitors, including executives, investors, and media personnel from around the world, CES will serve as the perfect platform for these promising companies and projects to make their mark on the global stage.

The goal of the C-Lab program is to elevate a platform for startups to grow and flourish, said Pilgyu Jeon, Executive Vice President and Head of the Creativity & Innovation Center at Samsung Electronics. CES is the perfect venue for these exciting companies and projects to show major tech players that they belong on the global stage.

Samsung’s C-Lab Outside program, established in 2018, provides comprehensive support to selected startups, including office workspaces, customized development programs, and investment, along with business collaboration from Samsung Electronics. One notable C-Lab Outside startup, Dr.Tail, an online veterinary consultation service, has partnered with Samsung to bring their services to Samsung Smart TVs, and will be showcased at the C-Lab booths at CES.

Additionally, Samsung will feature nine other C-Lab Outside startups at CES 2024, each offering innovative solutions in various fields. The startups include RebuilderAI, Ghost Pass, DEEPX, Style Bot, Vsion, DolbomDream, 60Hertz, Wrtn Technologies, and NdotLight. These startups cover a range of areas such as AI, energy, healthcare, fashion, smart windows, senior citizen health monitoring, virtual power plants, and web-based collaborative 3D design.

Sunkwan Lee, CEO of Ghost Pass, expressed excitement about being a part of C-Lab’s highly visible startup booth at Eureka Park and acknowledged the support of Samsung C-Lab as instrumental in winning the CES Innovation Award. Lee believes that CES 2024 presents the perfect opportunity for their startup to take a significant step towards global recognition.

In addition to the C-Lab Outside startups, Samsung will also showcase two projects nurtured within its C-Lab Inside program at CES. These projects, namely ID.EARS and DumboCam, focus on the healthcare and pet-tech sectors, respectively. Both projects have garnered praise for their innovation, market potential, and overall completeness.

Since 2016, Samsung has been exhibiting its C-Lab Inside projects at CES. However, in 2018, the company introduced the C-Lab spin-off program, allowing selected C-Lab Inside projects with high market potential to be launched as fully-fledged startups. At CES 2024, three C-Lab spin-off startups—Yellosis, Becon, and Goose Labs—that initially started as C-Lab Inside projects will showcase their groundbreaking products in the C-Lab booths.

The C-Lab program has been a consistent recipient of CES Innovation Awards, with this year being no exception. In fact, C-Lab startups received a total of 23 CES 2024 Innovation Awards, including one Best of Innovation Award and 22 Innovation Award Honorees. Notably, STUDIO LAB, a startup spun off in 2021, won the CES Innovation Award. With products like Seller Canvas and Photo-bot, STUDIO LAB has demonstrated the successful integration of AI and robotics in commerce automation and photography.

Yellosis and DEEPX, two startups being showcased at the C-Lab booths, received Innovation Awards in three categories each. Yellosis, a digital health startup, has developed smart toilets for health management solutions, while DEEPX specializes in edge AI chips for computational processing. Both companies are making significant contributions to the digital health and embedded technology sectors.

Samsung’s commitment to nurturing startups and fostering innovation is evident through its C-Lab program. By providing a platform for these startups to thrive and succeed, Samsung is making a significant impact on the global tech industry. CES 2024 will serve as a global stage for these promising startups to showcase their groundbreaking projects and connect with potential partners and investors.

As CES 2024 approaches, anticipation builds for the unveiling of Samsung’s 15 C-Lab startups and projects. With a dedication to innovation and creativity, Samsung continues to lead the way in supporting startups and shaping the future of technology.
