A injured bald eagle being treated at a veterinary hospital in Florida has tragically passed away. The eagle, known as Freedom, was brought to the Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital by Wild Florida Rescue before being euthanized due to a severe infection. The rescue suspect that the eagle may have been bitten by a snake or spider. Heather Pepe, co-founder of the rescue, mentioned that Freedom’s infection had progressed too far, leading to the difficult decision to put the bird down. This sad news comes in the wake of a challenging year for Bald Eagles, with last year’s avian flu outbreak taking its toll on the majestic birds.
