Sacramento Sports Bars Ready for Super Bowl LVIII with 49ers vs. Chiefs Watch Parties

Want to watch quarterback Brock Purdy sling passes or native son Arik Armstead sack Patrick Mahomes with other Sacramento football fans? There’s a bar for that. More than a few, in fact.

Virtually every Sacramento-area sports bar will be broadcasting the San Francisco 49ers versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday, which begins at 3:30 p.m. PST. The right watch party calls for TVs, great food and drinks and the right environment of fans — into the game, without being belligerent.

These are some of my favorite locally-owned sports bars around the region at which to catch a game, for their atmosphere as much as their food and drinks.

Fieldhouse American Sports Pub: People regularly cram into this 10-year-old Arden Arcade’s central bar for fights and football. Food is approachable and fun, such as a whiskey Gouda cheeseburger or Gilroy garlic fries, and there are lighter options as well.

Goose Port Public House: Al Santos’ downtown Roseville sports bar has 10 TVs showing sports, and 23 taps pouring beer. Yet on a mostly-familiar menu, dishes starred with the Portuguese flag stand out, such as a linguiça sandwich that pays homage to Santos’ roots.

Limelight Bar & Cafe: Truth be told, this watering hole on the East Sacramento/midtown border is normally a Philadelphia Eagles bar. But with the Eagles eliminated in the wild card round (after a 10-1 start to the season, no less), loyalties will likely shift to the 49ers rather than the Chiefs team that beat Jalen Hurts & Co. in last year’s Super Bowl. If the game gets out of hand, you can always mosey over to the adjoined card room for some poker or blackjack.

Public House Downtown: Formerly known as Firestone Public House, MAC Hospitality Group’s elevated sports bar at 16th and L streets has tons of natural light, 60 beers on tap and one of Sacramento’s best happy hours. You’ll want to reserve your table online ($200, but it goes toward your bill) before showing up for pizza, blackened fish tacos, and giant pretzels.

West Sac Sports Bar & Grill: Opened in 2014, West Sac Sports Bar & Grill feels like a true locals’ joint, an unfussy place where framed jerseys hang from walls and a central pool table offers halftime entertainment. You’ll find burgers, hot dogs, and fried appetizers on Sunday, but come back some Monday for cook Malee Thaisong’s weekly Thai dinner takeover.

So grab your fellow football enthusiasts and head to one of Sacramento’s top sports bars to cheer on the San Francisco 49ers as they battle the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. With mouthwatering food, refreshing drinks, and a lively atmosphere, these establishments provide the ideal setting to experience the excitement of the big game. Get ready to witness unforgettable plays, dramatic moments, and maybe even witness history in the making. Don’t miss out on the action this Sunday at these sports bars, where you can enjoy the game surrounded by fellow fans and indulge in delicious food and drinks.

Whether you prefer the bustling vibe of Fieldhouse American Sports Pub or the Portuguese-inspired dishes at Goose Port Public House, Sacramento has a variety of options to suit every football fan’s taste. If you find yourself on the East Sacramento/midtown border, make sure to check out Limelight Bar & Cafe, which has temporarily shifted its allegiance from the Philadelphia Eagles to support the 49ers in this year’s Super Bowl. And if you’re looking for a more upscale experience, head to Public House Downtown, where you can savor gourmet pizzas, flavorful fish tacos, and irresistible pretzels.

For those on the west side of the Sacramento River, West Sac Sports Bar & Grill offers a cozy, neighborhood atmosphere complete with framed jerseys and a pool table for halftime entertainment. And if you’re craving something different, be sure to visit on the designated Thai dinner takeover night.

No matter which sports bar you choose, you can expect a vibrant atmosphere, multiple screens displaying every crucial moment of the game, and a community of enthusiastic fans coming together to support their beloved San Francisco 49ers. So grab your friends, put on your favorite team jersey, and get ready for an unforgettable Super Bowl viewing experience at Sacramento’s best sports bars.

Remember to arrive early to secure your spot and make the most of the game day specials. Whether you’re rooting for the red and gold or simply looking to enjoy the spectacle of the Super Bowl, these local sports bars are sure to deliver an unforgettable experience. Let the countdown begin and may the best team win!
