RV University School of Law receives recognition from Bar Council of India

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has approved the School of Law at RV University (RVU) and its five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes. RVU’s School of Law will be the sixth school under the university and degree programmes will begin in August 2023. The university has appointed Prof. Y.S.R. Murthy as its Dean, who commented on the creation of the program, saying, Through the School of Law, we aim to nurture future lawyers who will uphold the principles of justice, integrity, and social responsibility. The law students will benefit from learning topics across various disciplines such as business, economics, technology, and public policy.

RVU is offering merit scholarships worth Rs. One Crore to deserving students. Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy, Chancellor, RVU, stated, We have assembled a distinguished Board of Studies comprising experts from India and the world. Under their guidance, our curriculum was crafted with care, incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives to equip our graduates with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.

RVU’s School of Law will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and Ph.D. programmes designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values necessary to excel in the legal field. Those interested in the programme may apply online on the university’s website, admissions.rvu.edu.in. The admissions process for undergraduate, postgraduate, and full-time/part-time Ph.D. programmes are already underway. The admission to the UG programme is based on RVSAT entrance exam/valid CLAT/LSAT/CUET scores.

The university has partnered with Seattle University for two joint programmes. Students enrolled in the five-year integrated law programme at RV University will have the chance to obtain an undergraduate degree in law from RV University and an LL.M. degree from Seattle School of Law in their chosen area of specialization within a span of five years. RV University’s SoL has designed 75 merit scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% to deserving candidates in the first year itself. RVU has international collaborations with 50+ universities worldwide and over 50 national collaborations with prestigious Indian institutions.
