Russian Woman Rescued by Police After Falling into 50 Metre-Deep Gorge in Himachal

A Russian woman who fell into a 50 metre-deep gorge was rescued by the police in Himachal Pradesh, India. Vera Litvinov was trekking to Khoh Waterfall from Old Manali with another foreign national, Iurii Iarovoi, without a local guide when she slipped and got injured. The police were alerted about the incident on Wednesday at 8.30 pm and immediately created a team that comprised Assistant of sub-inspector Prakash Chand, Police Sub-Inspector Ishant Sen, Head Constable Vinod Kumar, Constable Govind, a woman constable Ruveena and the local rescue team headed by a local named Jogi who came to the rescue. They reached the spot after around two to three hours on foot from Old Manali and rescued the foreign national. Vera Litvinov was transported to a hospital in Manali in a stretcher with her injuries being taken very seriously. Her treatment is ongoing at this time.
