Russell Brand Denies Sex Offence Allegations Amidst Reports Made to Police

London’s Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they have received several allegations of sex offences following the recent news reports about comedian and actor Russell Brand. Brand has vehemently denied the accusations made by four women during an investigation conducted by The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

The police released a statement stating that all the allegations were non-recent, and at present, no arrests have been made. Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime Command urged potential victims of sexual offences, regardless of the timeline, to come forward and report the incidents. He assured them that a team of specialist officers is available to provide guidance and support.

In light of the allegations, the police have assured that they will offer specialist support to all the women who have made the claims. Meanwhile, Russell Brand has expressed gratitude to his supporters who have questioned the rape and sexual assault allegations against him. In a three-minute video posted on YouTube, Rumble, and X, Brand described the past week as extraordinary and distressing.

Following the release of the police’s statement, Brand returned to his regular Rumble show for the first time since the allegations were made against him. The Dispatches documentary accused Brand of rape, assault, and emotional abuse during the years 2006 to 2013, a period when he was at the pinnacle of his career, working for the BBC, Channel 4, and starring in Hollywood films.

Previously, the Met had received an allegation of sexual assault in Soho, central London, in 2003, which coincided with the postponement of the remaining live shows on Brand’s Bipolarisation tour.

It is crucial to note that all the allegations made against Russell Brand are currently under investigation, and no definitive findings have been made thus far. The actor has denied all accusations and continues to maintain his innocence. The police are urging anyone with information related to these allegations to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
