The son of a 56-year-old man, whose death prompted a murder investigation, has paid tribute to his father, describing him as a hero. Paul Knowles, lovingly known as Knobby, was discovered dead at his residence in Farriers Court in Peterborough’s Orton Longueville area on Sunday. Anne-Marie Burrowes, a 52-year-old woman from Bretton’s Ellindon neighborhood, has been charged with his murder. Mr. Knowles’ son, Nathan Naylor, spoke highly of his father, emphasizing his pure soul and his role as a devoted father, brother, and son. Naylor referred to his father’s impressive career in the Royal Navy, where he served for 22 years and one day. He fought in both the Falklands conflict and the first Gulf War. The grieving son expressed gratitude for his father’s widespread affection, concluding his tribute with the sentiment, Fair winds and calm seas. Ms. Burrowes has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday.
