Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, recently shared the top moments of his illustrious career. Known for his incredible performances in limited-overs cricket, Sharma has achieved numerous milestones and created cherished memories during his 16-year-long cricketing journey.

As the captain of the Mumbai Indians, he holds the record for winning the most Indian Premier League (IPL) trophies, with five titles to his name. Sharma’s prowess with the bat is evident from his feat of scoring three double centuries in One-Day International (ODI) cricket, a record unmatched by any other player.

Making his debut for the Indian team on June 23, 2007, in a match against Ireland in Belfast, Sharma has amassed nearly 10,000 runs in his career so far. He holds the fifth position in the list of highest run-scorers for India in international cricket, with 3,677 runs in Tests, 3,853 runs in T20Is, and 9,837 runs in ODIs.

Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Sharma revealed his top five career moments. The first on his list is India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, a significant achievement that showcased Sharma’s early success on the international stage. Another memorable moment for him was his century on Test debut against the West Indies, where he scored a brilliant 177 runs in Kolkata.

Sharma also highlighted India’s historic win over Australia at the Gabba in January 2021. The team’s triumph in this Test match, played at a venue known for Australia’s dominance, was a remarkable feat. Additionally, he cherished his 123-run partnership with legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in the final of the Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series against Australia in 2008. While Tendulkar played an unbeaten knock of 117, Sharma contributed 66 runs off 87 balls.

Another unforgettable moment for Sharma was his double century, scoring an impressive 264 runs off 173 balls in an ODI match against Sri Lanka at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens in 2014.

Currently, Sharma is not part of the ongoing T20I series between India and the West Indies. He is set to make his return to action in the 2023 Asia Cup, scheduled to commence in August. The tournament will feature six teams from Asia, with defending champions India aiming to extend their winning streak under Sharma’s captaincy.

Rohit Sharma’s selection of these career-defining moments showcases his remarkable journey and significant contributions to Indian cricket. As one of the greatest batters in limited-overs cricket, he continues to leave a lasting impact on the game, and fans eagerly await his return to the field.
