Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate, but Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is not worried about losing his players.
The new Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglou, is said to be eyeing Furuhashi and Hatate, who have been performing well for Celtic. Yet, Rodgers remains calm about the situation.
Talking about the club’s recruitment process, Rodgers said: Mark Lawwell has this pipeline of players that are available and it’s really impressive what he’s done since coming in and the markets he’s been able to tap into. That will continue. That’s where the club is at.
He went on to remind everyone that attracting interest from other clubs is a natural occurrence when you have top players in your team. However, he did not show any concerns about losing them.
Those boys have come in and done exceptionally well. Good players will always attract attention. But I don’t worry about that, Rodgers concluded.
This news has sparked excitement among Spurs fans, but it remains to be seen whether the club will make a move for the Celtic duo. Rodgers seems confident that his club’s recruitment pipeline will continue to function well, and Celtic fans will hope that he is right.
Both Furuhashi and Hatate were signed by Celtic only this summer and have quickly become fan favourites. They would likely command a high transfer fee, but whether or not they will leave the club is yet to be seen.
For now, Spurs fans can only hope that Postecoglou manages to bring in the players he desires, while Celtic fans can rest assured that their club is in good hands with Rodgers at the helm.
