Rochdale Pedophile Sentenced to 15 Years for Decades-Long Abuse
A Rochdale pedophile has been handed a 15-year prison sentence for the heinous sexual abuse he inflicted on a girl and a boy spanning over 30 years. Christopher McGourlay, aged 63, faced multiple charges related to offenses that occurred in the early 1990s.
During the trial at Bolton Crown Court, shocking details of McGourlay’s abhorrent crimes were revealed, highlighting the significant impact they had on his victims. The jury found him guilty on ten counts of indecent assault on a female under the age of 14, attempted rape of a girl under 16, and indecent assault of a male under 14, all in completely unrelated incidents.
On July 19, the 63-year-old was convicted by the jurors and subsequently sentenced to 15 years in prison at Bolton Crown Court on September 1. The severity of the sentence reflects the gravity of the crimes committed.
