Robbery attempt thwarted, three apprehended by Chandigarh Police

The police confiscated several weapons, including a country-made pistol, live ammunition, an iron punch, an iron rod, and a pair of scissors from the possession of the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Amit Hans, aged 27, a resident of Ramdarbar Phase II, Akshay Kumar, aged 24, a resident of Ramdarbar Phase I, and Saleem Bhatti, aged 24, hailing from Hoshiarpur in Punjab. According to the police, the trio had conspired to rob a businessman in the bustling Sector 26 grain market.
The deputy superintendent of police, Vikas Sheokand, revealed that the arrests were made near the diving roads of Sector 27 A/B during a routine naka checking. It was further disclosed that Amit Hans, who works as a delivery boy for Big Basket, acted as the mastermind behind this criminal scheme.
As the investigation progresses, the police are determined to uncover the origin of the weapons used by the accused. We will question the individuals to ascertain the source of the weapon, stated an officer involved in the case.
Sector 26 police have registered a case against the suspects under the relevant sections of the Arms Act. Additionally, the trio was also sought in connection with a separate snatching case filed at Sector 34 police station.
