Visuals from Tuesday morning showed residents desperately chasing after water tankers with buckets in hand, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Satnarayan, a resident of Mayur Vihar Phase I expressed the challenges faced, emphasizing the need for timely water tanker deliveries by authorities. Another resident, Samsher Alam, echoed similar sentiments, stressing the insufficient water arrangements and the daily struggle to secure water for their households.
Sheila from Jatav Chown, Okhla, lamented the lack of government action in addressing the prolonged water crisis, indicating a sense of hopelessness among residents. Seema shared how the water supply situation had worsened over time, with promises from the government falling short of providing adequate solutions.
In related news, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi’s Water Minister, Atishi, was hospitalized after her health deteriorated during a hunger strike against the Haryana government. Atishi’s strike aimed to pressure Haryana to release allocated water to Delhi, emphasizing the critical water rights of Delhi’s residents.
