Rescue efforts have ended after two passenger trains derailed in India, killing at least 261 people and injuring hundreds more, in one of the country’s worst rail accidents. The crash occurred in the Balasore district, in the eastern state of Odisha. The Yashwantpur Express and the Coromandal Express both derailed on Friday evening. The cause of the accident remains unknown though officials have suggested that one train may have hit debris from the other. The South Eastern Railway company provided the updated death toll. Indian Prime Minster, Narendra Modi, visited the crash site on Saturday.
