A replacement plane for an Air India flight that was forced to divert to Russia due to an engine problem has departed for San Francisco, carrying all passengers and crew onboard. The Boeing 777, which initially left New Delhi with 216 passengers and 16 crew members, landed in Magadan airport in Siberia on Tuesday after developing a technical issue with one of its engines. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Passengers and crew were accommodated in a hotel while a replacement plane was organized. The new plane, which can seat up to 342 passengers, arrived in Russia to transport the stranded passengers and crew members. The journey from Magadan to San Francisco is expected to take around 15 hours.
Air India apologized to its passengers and thanked them for their patience during the delay. The airline also ensured the public that they were taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of their passengers.
This incident highlights the importance of regular and thorough aircraft maintenance to avoid technical malfunctions. It also emphasizes the need for reliable backup plans, such as replacement planes, in cases of emergency. Despite the unexpected situation, the quick response and assistance from Air India have shown their commitment to ensuring the comfort and safety of their passengers.
