The Reserve Bank has reassigned additional responsibilities to three deputy governors following the demitting of office by M K Jain. The move comes after Deputy Governor Jain completed his extended tenure earlier this week. Being responsible for several departments including Consumer Education and Protection Department, Department of Supervision, Financial Inclusion and Development Department, and Human Resource Management, Jain’s role will now be split among his former colleagues. Deputy Governor M D Patra will take charge of the Secretary’s Department and Coordination, T Rabi Sankar will be responsible for Central Security Cell and Human Resource Management, and M Rajeshwar Rao will handle Consumer Education and Protection Department, Department of Supervision, and Financial Inclusion and Development Department. The bank’s new deputy governor, Swaminathan Jankiraman, was appointed on Tuesday.
