Rapper Tory Lanez is denying all charges following his 10-year prison sentence for shooting fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, took to Instagram to proclaim his innocence and express his determination to fight the conviction. He stated that he had always maintained his innocence and would continue to do so.

Lanez’s denial comes after he had previously taken responsibility for the shooting during his court appearance. In December, a jury convicted him of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded and unregistered gun in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In his Instagram post, Lanez defended his earlier statements made in court, where he claimed responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments shared with the parties involved. He clarified that he was not apologizing for the charges he deemed were wrongfully imposed on him. Despite admitting to his actions that night, Lanez insisted he would not apologize for something he did not do.

Lanez’s legal team plans to appeal the sentence and conviction, and he thanked his friends, family, and fans for their support in his Instagram post. Megan Thee Stallion, who testified during the trial, stated that Lanez had fired a gun toward her feet as she walked away from an SUV they had traveled in together. Initially, Megan had told police that she had cut her feet on glass to protect Lanez and conceal the shooting incident.

The incident has had lasting effects on Megan Thee Stallion, as she testified that she still experiences nerve damage and lacks feeling in the back of her left foot. She references the shooting in her song Shots Fired, which chronicles the events surrounding the incident.

As Lanez continues to protest his innocence and vows to fight for justice, the case remains a contentious subject. Both artists have their supporters, and the outcome of any potential appeals and further legal proceedings will determine the final verdict.
