BJP State Executive member and Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh’s daughter, Aarti Rao, has stated that the upcoming June 25 rally in Haryana will have to be successful if there is any chance of changing the current Chief Minister. Speaking at a public rally in Pataudi, Gurugram, Aarti hinted at tension between Singh and the current Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar. It is notable that Singh is a significant figure in Southern Haryana politics, having won the Gurugram Lok Sabha election four times in a row. The upcoming rally is part of a state-wide series to commemorate nine years of BJP rule.
The rally in Pataudi is expected to be led by Singh and will likely make waves as tensions grow between him and the state government. Aarti managed to add fuel to the fire by stating that Southern Haryana holds immense importance for the state’s politics. Singh has a history of voicing his desire to hold the post of Chief Minister, even when he was part of Congress. Reports of differences between him and then-Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda emerged at that time. To fulfil his ambitions, Singh eventually joined BJP, but that desire could not be realised even in the current party.
All of this highlights the potentially explosive nature of the upcoming rally in Pataudi, which could have an impact on state politics in the coming months.
