The Ranchi police are facing criticism after a medical representative was allegedly beaten up at the Argora police station in Jharkhand. Vinod Sinha claims he was beaten by several officers at the station on Thursday evening after he accused them of colluding with criminals and not taking action against them. Sinha went to the station after locals handed over a mobile phone thief to the officers. When Sinha arrived and made his accusations, the officers reportedly hit him and turned off the station’s lights to avoid CCTV recording. The beatings have drawn widespread condemnation, particularly after Chief Minister Hemant Soren recently stressed the need for cops to improve relationships with the public.
