Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal is expected to speak at Aam Aadmi Party‘s (AAP) Maha Rally on Sunday opposing the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in the national capital. The rally will also feature speeches from Delhi CM and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Delhi AAP leader and Minister Gopal Rai, and AAP MP Sanjay Singh. Sibal, a constitutional expert, was invited to speak at the rally due to his better understanding of Delhi’s constitutional position. The Centre’s ordinance established a National Capital Civil Service Authority on May 19, granting executive control over service-related matters. The ordinance was issued following a Supreme Court verdict on May 11, which gave the Delhi government executive control over service-related issues, except those involving police, public order, and land.
