Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], December 17 (ANI): Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has expressed confidence that Rajasthan will become a frontrunner in all development indices within the next five years under the BJP’s double-engine government.

Shekhawat made the remarks while addressing reporters in Jodhpur on Sunday, highlighting the government’s commitment to propelling Rajasthan to new heights of progress and development. He stated, Under our double-engine government, Rajasthan will attain new heights of development and progress. Over the next five years, the state will lead the country in all development indices.

In other news, two Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) officers were recently transferred and assigned as special associates to the two deputy chief ministers, Diya Kumari and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, following their oath-taking ceremony.

Gopal Singh, an RAS officer, has been appointed as the special assistant to Diya Kumari, while Sawan Kumar Chayal, another bureaucrat, will serve as the special assistant to Bairwa.

The newly-elected Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, during his first cabinet meeting, assured the public that the government is committed to fulfilling all the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and outlined in the BJP’s manifesto for the Assembly elections held last month.

We will strive sincerely to fulfill all the guarantees of Prime Minister Modi and those listed in our manifesto. We would like to address issues that people across the country are grappling with. We will work towards an ‘Antyodaya’ Yojana and move ahead in a planned manner, said CM Sharma.

In his initial major decision as Chief Minister, Sharma established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate instances of paper leaks. He emphasized that strict punishment would be meted out to those found guilty, stating, We have put together an SIT to investigate the paper leak cases. These incidents broke the morale of our students. Those found responsible will be brought to justice and face strict punishment. An anti-gangster task force will also be formed.

Sharma, a first-time MLA from Sanganer, took the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in Jaipur on Friday. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda, among other dignitaries.

Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa also took the oath as deputy chief ministers of the state.

Sharma, who hails from Bharatpur in eastern Rajasthan, is closely associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He holds a master’s degree in political science. Sharma won the Sanganer assembly seat by a significant margin, securing 145,162 votes compared to his Congress rival Pushpendra Bhardwaj’s 97,081 votes.

The BJP emerged victorious in Rajasthan’s elections, surpassing exit-poll projections of a close race by winning 115 seats. The Congress trailed behind with 69 seats.
