A sub-inspector of the Rajasthan police was wounded after three suspects fired at a police team, said ASP Sunder Singh Kanesh of the Neemuch police. The suspects overpowered the officer and fired at him as their vehicle passed through an area under the jurisdiction of the Neemuch City police station. The suspects later escaped with the officer’s service revolver under the cover of darkness. The Rajasthan police team had arrested three suspects, including two wanted for rape and theft. The DIG announced a reward for the suspects and planned to take steps to prevent a repeat of the incident in the future.
